Ocean Awareness Training

Offered on Kauaʻi, Maui, Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi islands

Ocean Awareness Training offers members of the public an opportunity to receive a comprehensive overview of Hawaiʻi's marine environment, while also giving participants the chance to get their feet wet in local conservational efforts.

It is important to understand the various aspects of the marine environment, such as near-shore oceanographic processes, roles and relations on the reef, Hawaiian Culture, marine mammals, sea turtles, ocean threats, etc. to truly appreciate and preserve the natural resources of Hawaiʻi.

Each training session provides participants with the necessary knowledge to create a foundation of respect and preservation for Hawaiʻi's most important resource: the ʻāina. Ocean Awareness Training is a great place to start or continue your learning!

Whether you are in the marine recreation industry, a volunteer, or just interested in learning more about the ocean - Come and join us is in our effort to protect Hawaiʻi's pristine marine environment!

Space is limited and sessions are offered at various locations and times througout the year.
