Join the Citizen  Scientist Program and learn to use the Reef Environmental Education Foundation (REEF) survey which allows volunteers to collect and report information on marine fish populations using the roving diver technique. The data is housed in a publicly accessible database on REEF's Website. These data can be used by resource agencies and affect management decisions.  

Bring your sack lunch, have fun with the keiki and participate in a beach scavenger hunt.  RSVP required. Please arrive by 9am.

Local environmental organizations on Maui are joining forces again to offer a free Ocean Awareness certification course to the community.  After completing all 6 sessions, participants will receive a CORAL (Care of our Ocean, Reefs and Animal Life) Card that demonstrates one's ocean knowledge. The course has been specially designed by the Sanctuary, the Maui Ocean Center, Maui Reef Fund, MCC, Hawaii Eco-Nature Society, Project S.E.A.-Link, Hawaii Wildlife Fund, and the PWF.  Space is filling up fast, contact Emily to register.
